10)                     Committee Member Comments

Mendoza - resides in District 1 and partially got involved due to the uptick in violence in his community, wants to help make an effort to reduce violence. Suggested immigration forums since there is fear among the Hispanic community right now because of national politics. Need more community meetings to reassure the public that we are there to protect and serve them.

Franzell - agreed with Committee Member Mendoza. Has been in education 20 years and believes that the PD needs to start building good relationships with the youth in elementary school.

Petersen - another City of Salinas meeting tonight at Hartnell College, which causes a scheduling conflict for people who may want to attend both. Would like updates on good news like promotions and hiring.

Meeting Adjourned at 1903 hours.
