Farewell to Outgoing Committee Members
Chief Fresé thanked the outgoing PCAC Members for their work and service to the city. She presented plaques to each outgoing member from the City.
Outgoing Committee Member Scaife-Higgins thanked the Chief and Council for letting her serve the City. She congratulated the new Chief on the good work so far.
Outgoing Committee Chairperson Petersen said PCAC has been fun over the last 20 years. He has done 70+ ride a longs and other PD functions and thinks it is important for PCAC members to go on ride a longs. He had a really good 1st impression of Chief Fresé and he hopes she stays a long time.
Councilman Barrera thanked the outgoing committee members saying this is a lot of time out of their lives and an important service to the City.

Chief’s Report
Chief Fresé gave a brief update on the following items:
SPD is hiring
SPD is taking any new recruiting ideas
SPD is looking for volunteers, starting a volunteer program
Concerning the future of PCAC; if PD gets concerns from community, would like to find a way to send them PCAC so they can be discussed for ideas.
Committee Member Comments
Committee Member Metcalfe reported that he appreciates the support that PCAC has been receiving, also appreciates the caliber of volunteers on the committee. Wants a report on whether or not PCAC can have working meetings outside of formal meetings in order to discuss and work on stuff? Also wants a report on where PCAC will meet for December meeting since the date was changed for that meeting.
Committee Member Lynch reported that he promotes PCAC meetings on Facebook ad no one comes. Wants to look into new outreach and correct that problem.
Committee Member Mendoza reported that he appreciates the opportunity to serve on PCAC, he works in law enforcement but will be retiring soon and wants to stay involved since he will be remaining a resident of Salinas.
Committee Member Lacy reported that he appreciates the opportunity to serve on this committee. He was a deputy in TN and retired from the US Navy. His wife is Hispanic and a migrant, so he understands the needs of the community and is excited to help.
