If a vehicle has been parked more than 72 hours, we encourage residents to create a service request and report the vehicle.  The easiest way for them and most efficient way for us to respond is by using Salinas Connect.  Residents can create the service request either through the mobile app or simply by clicking the service request icon on the City of Salinas home page.  Enforcement times vary based on the level of calls for service we have pending which can vary.  Enforcement time can also vary based on the specific case.  Some vehicles we tow quicker than others such as vehicles missing major parts or vehicles expired over 6 months.  SPD follows the county vehicle abatement protocols which use a point system.  If the vehicle does not reach the required number of points, we wait 10 days to tow unless there are special circumstances.
